"Wicklow Way - Glencree rubbish." from simon3 Expand pics
Wicklow Way - Glencree rubbish. (Expand pics)
Abandoned gear on Wicklow Way.
While walking on the Wicklow Way in the Glencree valley (10th Aug 08) we came upon a number of places where tents, camping gear and vast amounts of litter have been abandoned at 3 or 4 sites beside the river such as O188146

Apart from the tents there were new pots and pans, new barbeque tongs, even a complete barbeque unit, along with large numbers of shoes, clothes. Floating in the stream were mats and of course there was vast numbers of tins, some unused food, used toilet paper, burnt gear etc. etc.

Apparently at Oxegen this year a large proportion of the tents there were abandoned. Apparently this manifestation of the Effluent Society is affecting the outdoors also.

Topped Mountain: Short & simple

A simple little Minion to climb (the name Topped 'Mountain' is a bit of a stretch). A gravel path & steps from a carpark will see you reach the top in about 15 minutes, and you won't even need you...

Crockmulroney: Good summit for Carn-baggers

A fine hill with a well defined summit and great views. Plenty of parking spots along the R254 directly to the south of the summit. From there it's a relatively simple 1km climb to the top.
