Onzy's Faha Ascent
I have to take my hat off to Onzy for imagining and executing Track 3188. .For a start, it is a circular route, which gets the maximum from the terrain. There is no retracing one's steps. He has taken on the Faha Ridge in winter, and kept going, and ascended the Brandon Ridge, so that Brandon itself is reached. The descent to the north is one of the best walks in the country. If one had the good fortune to walk this route on a summer's evening, one would see the sun low in the north western sky with huge views in all directions. I think it was a great achievement. Onzy is sober and sensible in warning us about the dangers of the ridge, particularly after point 809, and the difficulty of the ascent to Brandon. We hear you. It's something to aspire to in the right conditions, and when you have the necessary experience under your belt. Well done. It's great to see this Track uploaded. What a great experience.
