Re: Boardwalk to Cuilcagh
I just had to react to this... I have not climbed Cuilcagh yet, but I must say I am quite appalled... When I first saw Mcrtchly's picture, I thought they had built a stairway up to a viewpoint or just along an eroded section. But then I saw some other photos on the net, which left me speechless... Cannot believe they have built a whole wooden footpath and stairways through the bogland and up the mountain !! My reaction is basically the same as Conor74's: NOOOOOO !!!!
I love wooden stuff and structures, log cabins, wooden furniture, etc... but this is just total nonsense to do this to a mountain, and I find it even more intrusive than a concrete road somehow. Be sure I will never use it !!
In the mean time, I had a good laugh at Captain Vertigo's pic; better hide it though, in case it gives some bad idea to someone at the Department of Tourism !!

Cnoc na Sleá: Not To Be Judged On Size

A small hill, but as it can form part of an extended walk, has some very steep sides, and has some of the best views in the country, it cannot be judged by size alone. I started at the car park at...
