The Devil's Ladder route is so notoriously dangerous that it beggars belief that it would be offered as an example of a safe passage by tamjk. I have studiously avoided it over the years, preferring the Hydro Road and the Zig Zags. Yet I went up and down Mullaghanattin without being aware of any real problems other than steep ground at the end of a long day. Tamjk has shifted his position so often that I am beginning to think it is Bleck Cra winding us all up. If tamjk is real, then he doesn't know his gluteus maximus from his cubitus. All human activity involves risk. Assess it. Make decisions to minimise it, and get on with your life (I respectfully suggest).
PS There are no safe routes: only less dangerous ones. It is the same with beaches. And, believe it or not, it is the same with houses.Furthermore, there is no safe sex regardless of what the medical establishment might say. STAY IN BED (but lie motionless, don't let anyone in beside you, and hope the house isn't hit by a plane skidding off course in an air show.)
