Eastern Ascent to Mullaghanattin Peak (Expand pics)
Mullaghanattin, Map in doubt?
Go to this webpage for a map of the summit and its ascents.

maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V2,473842 E,577303 F,9,10

The "easiest" ascent is from the east, i.e. from a point at contour 700 m to the summit itself, which is given as 773 m. This is a net rise of 73 m.

Now measure the corresponding horizontal distance.
Using a ruler on the screen, I make it around 30 mm.
Applying the scale factor of x 10,000, this equates to a real horizontal projection of ~ 300 m.

So our gradient on this eastern ascent is given by :

Gradient = tan-1 ( 73 / 300 ) = tan-1( 0.24 ) ~ 13.5 degrees . . . .

I don't know about you people, but I make this rise to be a lot more than 13 - 14 degrees.

To the eye, I made it to be 30 degrees at least.

Westaston Hill: The top?

I think the highest point is likely about 175 metres in a WSW direction from the mast. I'm judging this from aerial photography and DTM which shows a rocky outcrop in a small forest clearing. DTM ...

Might be worth adding that Ballymoyle Hill might be more appropriate name for this height. Called that in Coillte records. Whilst Barranisky is spelt thus on OS six inch maps, note that Hall Nevil...
