A Warm Welcome in Waterford
On that rarest of things in the 'summer' of 2015, a glorious day, August 13th, while the Bay lough car park overlooking the V was packed with cars, most of who's occupants appeared to be heading for a dip in the shimmering waters of the lough by the looks of things, it was nice to meet some others who defied the sweltering 19 degree heat (sweltering this summer anyway) to head for the hills. On the off chance you read this, greetings to the two local gentlemen whom I met just above the col between Sugarloaf and Knockmealdown, to county top baggers Jonathan & Mary all the way from Antrim who I had a good yarn with on Knockmealdown summit (hope you bagged Knockboy in Cork on Friday) and to the good folk from Dungarvan who provided tea, cake and good conversation back at the Car Park. Truly the pick of walking days in this long wet summer, made more memorable by bumping into such a great and varied collection of fellow walkers. As the one with the pointe ears might have said, walk long and prosper folks, it is logical!

Bunsen7 a day ago.

Robber's Pass Hill: Minor heathery lump. Overcivilised and underwhelming.
Collaborative entry Last edit by: simon3 a week ago.
This oddly named hill is more a very minor heathery bump incorporated into the system of tracks laid out by the Wicklow Mountains National Park. It can be reached from any of the western car-parks...

Croaghmoyle: Easy walk up to great views

Low lying cloud/mist/fog discouraged me from putting the effort into going up Nephin today. On the way home I parked at the start of the Croaghmoyle service road and followed it past a wind turbin...
