Quad damage below Lug
Link below is to a Mountaineering Ireland tweet about quad bikes causing damage in the boggy area between Lugnaquilla and Slievemaan, urging people to call the park rangers if they see quads out on the Wicklow Mts. This is nothing new and any regular walker in the area south of Lug will know that this a favourite spot for the quad brigade - it must be at least five years ago that I saw about half a dozen quads churning up the bog in the exact same spot. Hard to know how this problem can be addressed - by the time the rangers are called and come out, the quad riders are long scarpered.

Quads are, of course, a by now essential tool for Irish farmers, and I remember well a couple of years ago after a long days in the Galtees a farmer in the Glen of Aherlow offering a group of us a very welcome lift back to the cars, saving us a long road walk. The shower who go up on the mountains are a different lot altogether,
