Circuits of the Dunkerrons...
...I've done a fair few, but have to say I don't know the ground between lakes Cloonaghlin and Namona. Most of the circuits I've done from the North tend to be towards the Knockmoyle side or the other end, SW of Coomcallee, the bunch in the middle have usually involved two cars. But if you're planning some outing in the summer, it may coincide with one of my wanderings in the Dunkerrons, in which case you may have two cars. Or think of going at it from the other side, it may be longer but no lakes to negotiate and the Kerry Way helps.

Have parked the car on the Ring of Kerry road between Sneem and Castlecove and headed up Esknaloughogue, Coomcallee, Coomnahorna and Cnoc Breasail and descended to the Kerry Way to walk back to the car. The descent can be steep, so should be plotted beforehand, was a bit casual and found myself pinned on a cliff face but that was my foolishness.

Similar to the other contributors, this is not a single summit day out. I did it after Colly. It's an hour or so with a coffee break. Start at the Ballaghasheen pass (spectacular drive in & out) a...

I am sure like many of you, especially simoburn, that the addition of the Arderin Begs while technically needed, added loads more summits to climb. This one is, well, a real hard sell. I was tryin...
