Mourne Outdoor Recreation Action Plan
Ladies and gents

As I reported in the December 2013 newsletter, the last meeting of the Mourne Outdoor Recreation Forum (MORF) included a presentation by Fiona Barbour from Outdoor Recreation NI regarding proposals for a new Mourne Outdoor Recreation Strategy to be prepared on behalf of Sport NI.

The draft strategy is now completed and a special meeting of MORF has been arranged to provide feedback on the initial findings and draft recommendations. This will be held on the evening of Wednesday 19th March at a venue in Newcastle; usually I attend these events on behalf of MV, but I am unable to make it to this one. Is anyone else prepared to take up the baton? You will be free (indeed encouraged) to present your own personal views at the meeting, but I would ask that you write a brief (and dispassionate!) summary of the discussions for MV consumption afterwards.

Below is a link to the strategy document for the Sperrins: the Mournes document will be designed to serve a similar purpose.

Please contact me through MV if interested.
