Devil's Bit Shooting, or not?
Many of us have discovered the gentle pleasures of the Shannon summit area so were concerned when the following came our way:

could you have a look at our facebook page which is notodevilsbitshooting and also to the devils bit shooting range.this is a venture being promoted by 2 individuals.our area is used extensively by hillwalkers and we would be delighted will any help you could offer to stop this idea.

I googled for notodevilsbitshooting but couldn't find anything. If anyone knows anything about this, please do let us know. Can I say however there MAY be two sides to the story. Recently I was in a forest near Slievereagh in the Ballyhouras. The area was probably more accessible to walkers as a result of a clay-pigeon shooting business in the forest. While noisy in one specific area, the racket didn't travel that far in the trees. I think my attitude to a development would be "it depends" which is why I would like to see more info on this. Same with pylons or wind turbines.

Though the road near L88003920 appears unfenced you will encounter a fence very soon after leaving the road. This fence extends along this back road, Bothar na Scrathóg and keeps cattle in typical...
