A question. Who finished the VLs youngest?
One of our newer members roblee asked me recently who currently was the youngest person to complete the Vandeleur-Lynams (or, at least a similar list of 600m summits) Since we don't record ages of members at MV we can't tell even you who is the youngest of our finishers, however I can reveal it wasn't me since at my recent completion I had been at it for at least 45 years!

There is a list run by the Long Distance Walks Association for 2000 ft mountains with 18 names. See http://www.ldwa.org.uk/hillwalkers/register4.php

Most of them say they have done the Paddy Dillon list (1992), which is quite a bit shorter than our list because 2000 ft is about 610m and there are several summits between 600 and 610. Also, nobody quite knows what the criteria Paddy used for deciding what was included or not. Nevertheless some of the people on the LDWA list may have also done the whole VL list.

We would love to hear what anyone knows about the youngest complieter.
