PARADISE AND PARKING LOTS
Another thing - and why not? Coming off Hare's Gap to the Polaphuca today, it looked like some vehicle parked at the foot of the Gap. In the 20 years of walking these mountains I am pleased to say I and everyone else have never seen any kind of vehicle at this height. Everything stays at ground level at the Trassey car park. So I thought it must be an optical illusion - farmers stuff etc. But nope there it was - a pickup van and through the binos I could have sworn I saw the Mourne Heritage Trust logo. I do hope I was mistaken and that the guardians of the Mourne Mountains choose to walk the track and not to drive it. Of course they could have been recce-ing the next chapter of their track building work. I didn't see anybody doing that but I did see a lot of boys craic-ing and keeho-ing up on the Gap. Something to do with the Mourne Wall Walk.
Wonder if the MHT would like to comment - now there would be a thing.

Summit Summary
Robber's Pass Hill: Minor heathery lump. Overcivilised and underwhelming.
Collaborative entry Last edit by: simon3 a week ago.
This oddly named hill is more a very minor heathery bump incorporated into the system of tracks laid out by the Wicklow Mountains National Park. It can be reached from any of the western car-parks...

Cupidstown Hill: Enhance this with a visit to Oughterard
Bunsen7 3 days ago.
Yes, perhaps this is not a very noteworthy hill. Cupidstown and Saggart Hill represent largely forest topped outliers of the Dublin/Wicklow range split from higher summits to the East by the N81. ...

Croaghmoyle: Easy walk up to great views

Low lying cloud/mist/fog discouraged me from putting the effort into going up Nephin today. On the way home I parked at the start of the Croaghmoyle service road and followed it past a wind turbin...
