A comment about the lake above Hospital de Benasque came to me. With permission, here it is:

"Your pic of the month brings back a lot of memories for me,having visited this lake three times over the years, the first being 35 years ago. The Hospital de Benasque was then a ruin .and the route up to the lake was very indistinct,if you could even call it a route. Very few people visited the lake then and the campsite we used was just a local farmer's field where we plonked our tents down and he came along and we paid him!. Imagine my shock when I visited the area about 12 years ago to discover that the Hospital de Benasque had turned into a fancy hotel and the route to the lake (not our route) was well marked and thronged with walkers!

I dug out another picture of the lake.

Cupidstown Hill: Enhance this with a visit to Oughterard
Bunsen7 a day ago.

Robber's Pass Hill: Minor heathery lump. Overcivilised and underwhelming.
Collaborative entry Last edit by: simon3 a week ago.
This oddly named hill is more a very minor heathery bump incorporated into the system of tracks laid out by the Wicklow Mountains National Park. It can be reached from any of the western car-parks...

Croaghmoyle: Easy walk up to great views

Low lying cloud/mist/fog discouraged me from putting the effort into going up Nephin today. On the way home I parked at the start of the Croaghmoyle service road and followed it past a wind turbin...
