Thanks for that link jop. I think many of the issues that are being discussed here have been hammered out in Britain and it is well worth looking at what they do. However the issues here are sometimes different so it worth mentioning these two links also: www.pathsavers.org (for Mountain Meitheal) and the new http://www.helpingthehills.ie/ which has pretensions at least to morph into a national body coordinating upland management - something very relevant to MV the website of a thousand summits.

Discussion is also important and MV plays a part in this. The rapporteur would read what's being said and summarise in as neutral a way as possible. Engage more people. Create a framework for more. Otherwise the sceptical might view the discussion as the outpourings of a succession of intellectual peacocks whose finery we admire but lead us nowhere.
