Wicklow MR: Lower Lake Glendalough
Yesterday, Thursday 13th September at 5.15pm, Mountain Rescue Teams were called to attend an incident at the Lower Lake in Glendalough, where a lady had sustained an apparent lower leg fracture. She had been walking with her family on rough ground and stumbled while crossing a ditch line.

Rescue Team members were very quickly on scene and able to assist with her treatment and evacuation. An ambulance from the Eastern Region Health Authority was able to access the location by driving along the Green Road. So the operation was over quickly with the injured woman being transferred to the ambulance within an hour of the accident, and brought to hospital shortly after.

Thank you to those who attended or were en route, including both rescue teams, the ambulance service and National Park staff.

Might be worth adding that Ballymoyle Hill might be more appropriate name for this height. Called that in Coillte records. Whilst Barranisky is spelt thus on OS six inch maps, note that Hall Nevil...

I think the highest point is likely about 175 metres in a WSW direction from the mast. I'm judging this from aerial photography and DTM which shows a rocky outcrop in a small forest clearing. DTM ...
