Inis Bofin and Inis Shark
FYI. There's a walking/boating event to Bofin and Shark on Sat 25th August. While there's a regular ferry service to Inis Bofin, it's not so easy to visit the uninhabited Inis Shark so this is a great opportunity to get out there. All proceeds from the event go to Mental Health Services in Connemara. For more info visit www.heritageweek.ie
PS. The documentary inis Airc - Bas Oileain, an account of the evacuation of the island in October 1960 is presently available on tthe TG4 player |
