Islands of Adventure 2?
Jackill, I was thinking of some of the remote islands off the Kerry coast including the unclimbed Inishtooskert (172m) and Inishnabro (175); An Tiaracht might be doable provided there are no access issues? Simon3 reliably informs me that there is a very fine B&B in the Maharees (with which you are apparently familiar…) that run a training school for diving instructors. They have boats and would be prepared to take a group of 10 or so out to various islands. All this is, of course, weather dependent and I would suggest organising this over a weekend so that some on land summits/routes can be lined up if conditions do not allow us to set sail on the allotted day (ideas for routes in the vicinity most welcome). Time wise, perhaps mid-late July or early August would be good? So, let’s see who is interested and what dates suit and we can try and get something arranged. This really is the only cost effective way of bagging those remote offshore peaks and last’s year’s trip was such fun! |
