The Paddy Dillon challenge
In the Mountains of Ireland Dillon poses a challenge a couple of times, being a walk from Coomcallee in the Dunkerrons to east of Mangerton - he suggests Crohane. Thinking of doing it. Have done every peak in the two ranges covered, the Mangertons and Dunkerrons, but might be fun to take up his challenge. Think it would need 3 stages, Crohane, Mangerton, Dromderalough, Peakeen and a break at Molls Gap, 2nd leg going from Boughil to Knocklomena, on over Stumpa Duloigh and on to Ballaghbeama, and the final leg over Mullaghanattin, Beann, Knocknagantee and ending at Coomcallee.
Anyone else interested in a leg or 2? Would not be over 3 consecutive days, each of those would be a fair hike in itself. Prob 3 consecutive weekends. |
