Has the summer arrived?
This week sees the sun breaking out and the early indication is that the good weather should extend into the weekend. While it may be too hazy for long distance views, it will be a great opportunity to get out and walk in areas that are usually wet and boggy as the warm weather should dry things up a bit! It also means that there should be a spurt in vegetation growth which will be challenging on lower slopes. In fields all around the land the bright Rapeseed (Brassica napus) crops are providing vivid and colourful backdrops or foregrounds for photos.
My photo is of the Rock of Dunamase near Portlaoise and was taken on Sunday last. Let’s make the most of the good weather and hopefully we see lots of great reports of hillwalking after the weekend |
