Re Definition of prominence
Hi Jim. MountainViews uses the following definition of prominence: 'The Prominence of a peak is the height of the peak’s summit above the lowest contour line encircling it and no higher summit.'

In general this means finding the col connecting the hill to the nearest higher summit and measuring from that col. I see you recently posted about Lobawn in Wicklow. Table Mountain would be the nearest higher summit that Lobawn is connected to so Lobawn's prominence is measured from the col at S990 976. Hope this helps. Wicklore.

A Cloon Horseshoe "mini Scavvy"?

Think none of the Scavvies so far have tackled the Dunkerrons, and the Cloon Horseshoe at its heart - Mullaghanattin, Beann, Finnararagh and then moving all the way on to Knocknagantee and swingin...
