A top five...
1. Brandon. It just is. Been hillwalking for 30 years and it had been a LONG time since anywhere had had as profound an effect on me as the Pilgrim's path done alone on a horrible winter's day.2. Mullaghanattin. I love how brazen it is...it seems like no matter where you are in Iveragh it's sitting there, winking at you. 3. Slieve League. We don't get mountains on the edge of the sea over here in Britain. I appreciate Croaghaun might be better but I couldn't see a hand in front of my face when I did that one. 4. The Big Gun. Just the best fun to do...a ridge that's as complex or straightforward as you choose to make it. 5. Muckish. Because it has a hugeness about it that utterly belies its relatively modest height. An intriguing route up it too. |
