No Weed Indeed
Young Weed is most welcome on this site, although his athleticism puts the rest of us to shame. He intends to get the County Tops out of the way well before the Olympics and to that end seeks to dispatch Mweelrea (814), Benbaun (729) , Seltannasaggart (County Top of where?) and the Truskmore twins (647) "this weekend". He fears neither exhaustion nor drowning (please see the Met Eireann website). But Cweed rightly seeks guidance on the current state of the Gleniff Valley Wars, not wishing to be the latest casualty. I researched this topic before I tackled the local Arderins last year. There is peace in the valley provided that you respect certain protocols. The Truskmore Route is relatively uncontroversial in that RTE has built a road up to the Truskmore Mast and most folks just walk up that road. I tried to get through to the RTE property department at 7am that Saturday to ask permission but the phone rang out. So I took it that they would not object to a licence payer using the road and there was no trouble. RTE carries on work up there from time to time and to comply with its Health and Safety obligations erects large Keep Out signs. So if you injure yourself you will have no recourse. While studying this submission please listen to the Rev Jimmy Swaggart at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqVgrSO6_fQ
