INDEED, MR KIRK - THE BELL TOLLS
Yes David: I saw the beginnings of this abomination (or at least, its sibling child of Satan on the once lovely Glen River) and simply didn’t have the stomach to follow its progress (I use this word loosely).
Views on all of this are very polarised. You, yourself like the tracks and dislike that bridge. Some of us like it all. Should have gone to Specsavers.
On Facebook I have been sourcing opinions and there are many, even sampling a very small population, agin it – and some players worth listening to.
If there become enough, we intend to follow through, whatever that is.
This argument about the Mournes Heritage Replacement Trust explaining their behaviour, then doing it, doesn’t wash with me, unless of course we are to applaud Hitler for explaining that he was going to invade Poland then doing it. I am sure we all get my drift.
My fave of all faves is their guff about the Glen River pollutants and salmonids. Sure what on earth pollutants oozed out of the existing track that was going to poison the salmon, which of course aren’t there. I write this as a game-fisherman for 25 years. Stuff and nonsense about one subject – not good for credibility on the rest of their assertions. The only redeeming feature is that it is all quite risable.
