Books for review.
Collin Press, Cork have published two new books. and are offering MountainViews a copy of each for review purposes. If you would like to review one of the books please do contact us at group@mountainviews.ie The purpose of such reviews (which needs to go into the bibliography) is to let the rest of the community get an idea of whether the book is of interest for them. If you are interested in being considered for future reviews, also let us know. The books are: Ireland's County High Points by Kieron Gribbon. This is for the peak-bagger, the high-pointer, the person who wants to be on top of the world or at least at the top of their county! Kieron is a writer and photographer as well as a keen hillwalker [ and MountainViews member ] who has climbed all the County High Points and discovered along the way that, although there are 32 counties in Ireland, there are only 26 county tops. [ MountainViews lists 27, so it will be interesting to see which is left out ] Scenic Walks in Killarney by Jim Ryan This is for the rambler, the stroller, the person who wants to enjoy low-level walks in the magnificent scenery of Killarney, a town that attracted kings, queens, writers and celebrities. Jim claims his spiritual home is in Kerry so, as you can imagine, he's very enthusiastic about all things Kerry! |
