GPS Systems
Hey,

Just wondering which GPS unit would be the most suitable for use in our Irish mountains, is there a preference amongs members. Just having a look lately and a lot of the cheaper Garmin units dont seem to have an option to add maps or routes. What are the necessities in a GPS ?, ability to add maps, electronic compass, etc. ? Have seen a few sales recently where the units have dropped in price so might be an ideal time to purchase. Of course I know that there is no substitute to the map and compass but a GPS would be nice to have. If any of you have any good comments on particular models I would be interested in hearing those, even some of you may have others places to purchase cheaper systems. As always thanks for the feedback it is appreciated.
Later and take care out there...

Topped Mountain: Short & simple

A simple little Binnion to climb (the name Topped 'Mountain' is a bit of a stretch). A gravel path & steps from a carpark will see you reach the top in about 15 minutes, and you won't even need yo...

A fine hill with a well defined summit and great views. Plenty of parking spots along the R254 directly to the south of the summit. From there it's a relatively simple 1km climb to the top.
