Decision made on boots...
...drumroll...

...drumroll...

It's the Meindls Air Revolution Lites. Read somewhere else that they are waterproof. Plus having light boots will make a change. The Meindl Island Pros that are coming to the end of their days were great, but weighed about a stone each. The rare time water did invade and they got any bit wet, it was hard to pick both up in one hand they got so heavy.

It also maximises resources. Will get the MIPs looked after by a cobbler, they deserve a bit of pampering, and get the eyelet repaired. Can keep them then for the more testing slopes and conditions, and will jam crampons on them even if they are a bit flexible for them. Still find it hard to justify to myself the big spend on crampon compatible boots for the few days wear I might get out of them each winter. Think I'll get through this winter and scout around eBay again next spring when more are trying to offload.

Oh and though there is no plum available in the Miendls Air Revolution Lites, they do come in colours that my father would have called "snazzy"!

Though the road near L88003920 appears unfenced you will encounter a fence very soon after leaving the road. This fence extends along this back road, Bothar na Scrathóg and keeps cattle in typical...
