Reeks completed
Wrestled with the conscience about this post. On one hand hate to sound like I'm giving it the big I am. And guess a determined bagger could get them all in with a few days hard graft and good route planning. It took me a lot longer, one of the main problems (apart from life getting in the way) being that it's so hard to head for the Reeks and not be drawn to the usual attractions, the ridges, the Hag's Tooth, the big peaks, the dramatic routes up and down. So the last 6, Beann Dubh, Beann Bhan and Beendarrig, Skregbeg, Knockbrack and Derryfanga were conquered long after the others. But as a South Kerry native, was pretty proud to complete the set and add it to the Purple Mountains (which is a bit of a gimme once you do the main one) and the Mangertons. Now a good few Dunkerrons and Cahas to go and I'll feel I really know my part of the world.

The Eagles Rock: A short but sweet scramble

Clermont Carn: Easy but a great view.

If you drive up the road this has to be a contender for the easiest summit in Ireland, but it's well worth doing for the superb view. Wicklow to Donegal, with the Meath lowlands spread out like a ...
