Map and Compass
Weedaviee, The compass and map are always going to be an essential tool for the hill walker. With your obvious experience of both why not create an article on the use of compass and map for navigation. You could cover the basics like reading and orientating a map, grid references, taking a bearing and relating contours to the land around you. Also some of the advanced stuff like, pacing, back bearings and re-locating your self in poor visibility. I sure Simon would be happy to publish it and newcomers to the site would find it extremely useful and it’s likely to be a more effective way of leading the flock to righteousness.
