Climbing Lugnaquillia
There is a gentleman who goes under the name "distancefading" who has uploaded a good number of videos on YouTube. Many of these relate to an alarming sport where folks wave giant fishing rods about for no good reason that I can fathom. But this film maker has lately turned his talents to mountain movies and he has a gift- I am sure of that. His most recent piece captures something of the very heart of Lugnaquillia. The lighting (thank you God!) is stunning. He has learned the art of holding the camera steady. The composition indicates that he either spends months on each movie or else has an intuitive grasp of what works. Closely observed details are Oscaresque. No I am not his agent!! Please take the time to look at this short film and judge for yourself.

Cnoc na Sleá: Not To Be Judged On Size
Aidy 5 days ago.
A small hill, but as it can form part of an extended walk, has some very steep sides, and has some of the best views in the country, it cannot be judged by size alone. I started at the car park at...
