Thanks for that, haven't read Bailey's book, have Lynchs but not sure about the way he concludes you need ropes and slings and karabiners for just about any scramble - even the sw ridge on Hungry Hill, and Purple Mountain - so assumed he erred on the cautious side for everything. Also think he missed out some obvious scrambles, like the north side of Knockowen/Cushnaficula in the Cahas.
