Bill on the Lam
Hello BILLNOR, your road to Slievelamagan is a good thing - no probs whatever. Be cautious however in heavy mist - Beg has some very serious crags; also coming off Beg back the way to the Pad, in the same mist, can be disorienting. Cove can be tough enough from this direction although thankfully brief. Do her as a straight top-to-toe route for your first draft, but to produce the real master plan, next time take a wide loop East and marvel at the completely wonderful airy views of the perfect Annalong Valley. Donít chicken out and try to drop down to the valley between Cove and Lamagan: it will put you in the madhouse - and better still why not just go on and do Binnian as well. The run back is easy enough. Enjoy.

Robber's Pass Hill: Minor heathery lump. Overcivilised and underwhelming.

This oddly named hill is more a very minor heathery bump incorporated into the system of tracks laid out by the Wicklow Mountains National Park. It can be reached from any of the western car-parks...

Revisited Slieve Binnian for the first time in years on Friday - frost underfoot, blue skies and rolling mist contributed to a great walk, despite disappointment at seeing some of the track work u...
