Bitter & Twisted
Simon

I'm definitely more agin walking poles than cameras. But pretty pictures of hills don't tell you much. What do you value in a site like this? It's a place for how to do it information.

Is it scrambly, is it messy, what does it give you, are there herds of mad goats. Piccies can illustrate these things but very often don't. You don't have the worst
excesses of some Scottish sites (picture of cairn in mist with accompanying text "Do this on a clear day. you can see farther". On the other hand mostly they
don't have the equivalent of Mr Cra (who seems a few metres short of a summit cairn, but who is at least taking language to places it's not been before. A bit
like someone once took me to Bundoran.)

Maybe photographers should think what they're trying to do - the unrelenting pursuit of the calendar pin-up has a saccharin effect. Go cubist, which might be the
Cra effect (I know I'm reaching here.) Or keep it functional (which certainly a number of your own illustrations get full marks on.)

Yes, perhaps this is not a very noteworthy hill. Cupidstown and Saggart Hill represent largely forest topped outliers of the Dublin/Wicklow range split from higher summits to the East by the N81. ...

This oddly named hill is more a very minor heathery bump incorporated into the system of tracks laid out by the Wicklow Mountains National Park. It can be reached from any of the western car-parks...

Croaghmoyle: Easy walk up to great views
