I'm not sure if this is strictly relevant..... but it is amazing! This is Iapetus, a moon of Saturn. The recent Cassini mission is sending back amazing images of Saturn and it's moons- this is one of the more bizarre examples. You can see polar ice, but the equatorial ridge is totally bizarre. It appears extend all the way round. It is over eight miles high in places. There are theories as to how it arose, but nobody is really sure. Anyhow, if you're ever in the area.........
