Mountain Biking
Hello everybody.

We're a group of oldish mountain bikers (the ones that slow down, give right of way, don't spook horses and don't damage trails). We're based in south Co Dublin and venture as far as Croaghanamoira riding mostly Coillte trails. Our next expedition is to the Galtees where we want to climb Galtymore.

Obviously, there's very little cycling and a lot of carrying involved. We're aware of that. The plan is to use the Black Road carpark up the old turf track and then ascending NW up the col between Galtybeg and Galtymore. Once on the summit we intend SE to rejoin the northern end of the wood back to the carpark.

I was wondering if anyone can give us details as to navigable the trails are in the areas flanking the mountain? Also we're reckoning on 5 hours to complete the circle. Arewe completely mad?

Over to you.
