Bringing a group up the Reeks, any tips
Few of us trying to organise a hike for charity, with the idea that we'll go up Carrauntoohil and each hiker can contribute say 50 (rather than collecting sponsorship for something we want to do). We want to limit numbers to something manageable, about 20 or so, and all are fairly fit sports players or walkers - want to reduce risks as much as possible. Will also have a few very experienced climbers with us who have done the Reeks many times, and propose to go up the Devil's Ladder and down the Zig Zags. I will send the walkers a circular advising them generally on boots and clothing and the route itself, and of course guess will have to break up into groups going up the Ladder for safety. Also have warned them that any hint of adverse weather and we'll be doing another walk entirely. But is there any particular tips for accompanying such groups?

Robber's Pass Hill: Minor heathery lump. Overcivilised and underwhelming.

This oddly named hill is more a very minor heathery bump incorporated into the system of tracks laid out by the Wicklow Mountains National Park. It can be reached from any of the western car-parks...
