Aerial View of Mweelrea and the Twelve Bens
After Captain Vertigo's Mweelrea video we thought that we could go a little higher!. Last Wednesday (10th March 2010) on route to a short snow shoeing holiday in the USA (upstate New York), Kernowclimber and I had a great view of Ireland from 50,000 feet. Besides spotting the Wicklow coast and Galway Bay the most memorable sight was of Connemara with the Twelve Bens, Killary Harbour and the snow covered Mweelrea and Sheefry mountains.

Though the road near L88003920 appears unfenced you will encounter a fence very soon after leaving the road. This fence extends along this back road, Bothar na Scrathóg and keeps cattle in typical...
