Coomloughra
jontheshrub inquired earlier about anybody doing the Coomloughra when he is in Kerry later this month - afraid I can't oblige him but I would warn him about doing the horeshoe on his own if he's never done it before. If he's walked Striding Edge in Cumbria then obviously he has a head for heights but Benkeeragh is not to be taken lightly and I for one wouldn't dream of doing it on my own. I know some posters on MV believe the ridge isn't that bad but I for one found it very daunting the one time I did it - there is a lot of exposure in some sections although it has to be said it isn't very long and the really scary bits can be avoided by dropping down a bit. Hope you find a walking partner for the horeshoe when you're over jontheshrub but I'd be wary about being tempted to do it alone
