Cnoc/Loch na Searrach
Hi All!
This is my first post and I'm actually looking for a bit of advice.
I'm planning on walking up to Loch na Searrach at the foot of Cnoc na Searrach in the Derryveagh's in Donegal. I'm actually a flyfisherman and this loch is reputed to hold monster trout. The problem is I'm not sure where to start my ascent.
One route I was planning starts in the glen beween Cnoc Leamhnachta and An Eadarna Bheag and follows a wee stream via what appears to be quite a gentle climb. The other route starts on the R254 to the Doochary and involves a much steeper climb between Cnoc na Searrach and An Cnoc Fada.
Any advice on the best route and the type of terrain likely to be encountered would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!!
