Gaia.
Rocks are scattered everywhere. A melting pot of multi geological diversity gather in congress, from mudstones, sandstones to warm salt and peppered granite. All manner of size and shape. Water has chiselled and buffed their sharp serrated edges to arcs and cups, bowls and curvatures. The riverís Kundalini winds like a shimmering serpentine down between them. So intimate is the relationship, it is not immediately clear who gives to whom its form. Did the Glen River waters de-robe the rock and channel such flumes in its spiralling race down to the sea, or did the rock heaves and humps lay a bed for the mountain-springs outpouring? Standing amongst it, which one can with no bother at all, one senses the ions sparking in mid air above the currents. It is June, and odd to report no storm waters, so one can only imagine what it must be like when the rivers in full flood and every living thing surrounding it ignited in that rush .

Tonelagee NE Top: Barely recognisable as a separate top
Colin Murphy 12 hours ago.
This is a handy one to bag on the way to Tonelagee, but it is so nondescript that many a walker has by-passed it without realising it is a top in itself. The summit is a broad, grassy area with no...
