Mid Hill to Collin Top and beyond?
Howmanyminutes I've never tried to get to Waterfoot from Collin Top before - I would usually head back towards Cargan via the Dungonnell dam service road. Looking at the map the terrain north of Collin Top looks difficult enough - the main problem with trying to get to Waterfoot from here is getting down the sides of Glenarriff glen which are extremely steep. If your friend is feeling adventurous perhaps he could head NW from Collin Top towards the A43/B14 junction at Parkmore and follow the gap through the trees towards the Essathohan bridge then over Crockalough and finally drop down the eastern side of Lurigethan into Waterfoot. That's really the long way round but it's the only other safe route I know of that avoids the forest with some great views too. Gerrym might be able to answer your question better than me though.

Robber's Pass Hill: Minor heathery lump. Overcivilised and underwhelming.

This oddly named hill is more a very minor heathery bump incorporated into the system of tracks laid out by the Wicklow Mountains National Park. It can be reached from any of the western car-parks...
