"DONARD AND COMMEDAGH" from Bleck Cra Expand pics
A Mournes run out has been mooted. This was greeted with deafening silence. Thing is I don’t believe you, so …….
First weekend August this year I, yes the famous Bleck Cra and him, the even famouser Jackill will be doing a Mournes walk. We can do the walk ourselves, which sounds good enough to me, but in truth it would be better if many mountainviewers came along. That’s what Jackill says.
The walk will comprise a middling tough pull up the Glen River from Newcastle Co Down on to the Donard/Commedagh saddle – thereafter on to Donard, the highest top in Northern Ireland and with wonderful views of the sandy coastline, perchance Britain, weather permitting. Then on to Commedagh and down (“A”s and Challengers can wing out farther afield at this point if they like), passing the airy Pots of Pulgarve and back to the Glen River and to the pub. The rest is a blur. So there are points to bale out if there is no gas in the tank. In short you can do what you feel like. Short time – 3 hours. Long time – 5 hours. So no blah pur..lease about how long it takes you to get from Glocka Morra to here.
Can I have takers now please. Tops will be circa 20 souls, so don’t eff about. Get my email address from Simon. Also I should appreciate northerners or nearly northerners who would like to help out, to get in touch.
Luv Cra.
