Boirche's Chair - which Slievenaglogh?
Being interested in mountain folklore, I was very interested to come across a striking photo in David Kirk's book 'The Mountains of Mourne - A Celebration of a Place Apart' (p. 121) of a boulder on Slievenaglogh known as Boirche's Chair (Boirche is a legendary cow-herd who watches his cattle from the summit of Slieve Binnian according to E. Estyn Evans). The rock has a scooped-out face that makes it resemble a chair or throne. Problem is: there are two Slievenagloghs in Mourne, one west of Slieve Commedagh and the other further south across the Silent Valley from Slieve Binnian. Does anyone know which one is the site of Boirche's Chair? If you know it, and it's not easy to find, a grid ref or rough directions would also be appreciated. If the David Kirk who has contributed to this forum is the author of this book, maybe he could tell us himself. Many thanks, Paul

Topped Mountain: Short & simple

A simple little Minion to climb (the name Topped 'Mountain' is a bit of a stretch). A gravel path & steps from a carpark will see you reach the top in about 15 minutes, and you won't even need you...

A fine hill with a well defined summit and great views. Plenty of parking spots along the R254 directly to the south of the summit. From there it's a relatively simple 1km climb to the top.
