Poucher, W. A. Journey into Ireland - Turas in Éirinn

Publisher: Country Life Published: 1953 Last revision: Added by pdtempan
Poucher intended to write a guide to walking in Ireland like those he wrote for mountain regions of Britain. He spent one rather wet summer walking in Ireland, and didn't get enough done to produce a comprehensive guide, so the result is more a coffee-table book. However, the photos are of good quality and provide a fascinating reminder of how different Irish rural life was only a few decades ago. This book is out of print and I've only ever seen 2 copies of it, so snap it up if you come across it. I think he did a colour photo collection published in 1986.
